तोमड़ी tomṛī, तूमड़ी tūmṛī[S. तुम्ब+र+इका], s.f.=tomṛā, q.v.; (tūmṛī) a musical instrument made of the gourd, a kind of pipe (used by snake-charmers and jugglers); the snout of an alligator, or crocodile, etc. (so called from its resemblance to the shape of the gourd); (tomṛīor tūmṛī) a lantern made of a hollowed gourd, or of a hollowed water-melon, or of earth, etc.; a kind of firework (a small earthen pot filled with powder, etc.; syn. phuljharī).
