tiryāq (supposed to be the Gr. θηριακὰArabicized), s.m. Theriac (also called 'treacle'), an antidote (for poisons, snake-bites, etc.); Bezoar stone; a sovereign remedy; opium (because it is a remedy for anxiety, etc.):—tiryāq-ě-fāruq, tiryāq-fāruq, s.m. The best kind of tiryāq.
