िऽवगर् tri-varg, vulg. tri-barg, ti-barg, s.m. An aggregate of three things or substances, etc.; the three objects orpursuits of life, viz. religion or virtue (dharm), pleasure (kām), and wealth (arth); the three conditions of a king or of a state, viz. progress (vr̤iddhi), remaining stationary (sthāna), and decline (kshay), or gain, equality, and loss; the three qualities of nature, viz. purity, blindness, and depravity; the three higher castes or tribes.
