तकुर् tarku, s.f. A spindle, a distaff; an iron pin upon which the cotton is first drawn out (syn. taku`ā, taklā):—tarku-pinḍ, s.m. and tarku-pīṭhī, s.f. A ball of clay, etc., at the lower end of a spindle to arsist in giving it a rotatory motion:—tark-śān, s.m. A small whetstone for sharpening spindles, etc.:—tarku-lāsak, s.m. A concave shell or saucer which serves to hold the lower end of the spindle when wheeled round.
