ब्याज byāj [S. व्याज], s.m. Deceit, fraud, cunning, craft; disguise (either of purpose or of person); semblance, pretext, pretence; contrivance, means; surplus, deduction, discount, interest (on money), usury:—byājbaṭṭā, s.m. A comprehensive term for the various items of the business of a shroff or banker:—byāj-par byāj, s.m. Interest upon interest, compound interest:—byāj-ḵẖor, byāj-ḵẖora, s.m.
