bahār [Pehl. vahar; Zend vaṅhra, fr. vaṅh; cf. S. वसन्त; वसार], s.f. Spring, prime, bloom, flourishing state; beauty, glory, splendour, elegance; beautiful scene or prospect, fine landscape; charm, delight, enjoyment, the pleasures of sense, taste, or culture:—bahār-par ānā, v.n. To blossom, bloom; to flourish:—bahar-istān, s.m. A place adorned with the bloom of spring; a lovely or beautiful spot;—title of a Persian work by Jāmī:—bahār lūṭnā(-kī), To snatch pleasure or delight (from), to revel in:—bahār-kātel, s.m. Oil scented with orange blossom.
