bū, or bo [Pehl. boi; Zend baoidhī, rt. bud = S. budh], s.f. Odour, scent, smell; trace, soupçon, small portion, particle (in India, bo commonly signifies a bad smell, būbeing used for 'smell' generally):—bū-bās, s.f.=bū:—būphūṭnā(-kī), Smell (of a thing) to be diffused; soupçon, trace, or inkling (of an affair, etc.) to get abroad; to be divulged, to leak out, get wind:—bū-dār, bo-dār, adj. & s.m. Scented, fragrant;—a kind of scented leather:—bū-kash, adj. & s.m. Smelling, sniffing;—one who smells or inhales the scent or odour (of a thing):—bū-kashī, s.f. Taking a smell; inhaling odour.
