बांका bāṅkā[S. वब+कः, rt. वक्], adj. & s.m. Crooked, winding, curved, bent, awry, on one side; oblique, tortuous, retrograde (motion of planets); crooked in disposition, cunning, fraudulent; malevolent, refractory, rebellious;—foppish, coxcombish, dashing, showy, smart, gay, coquettish, wanton; fine; spirited;—a fop, beau, buck, dandy; bravo, bully; dissolute fellow, rake, roué(syn. albelā);—a hook or curved instrument to cut bamboos, etc. with (=bāṅk); a particular musical instrument, a bent trumpet made of brass:—bāṅkā-tirćhā, adj. Crooked, curved, etc.=bāṅkā:—bāṅkā-ćūr, s.m. Fop, etc.=bāṅkā:—bāṅkā ćor, s.m. Expert or rare thief.
