अड्डा aḍḍā[S. अट्ट+क; and cf. S. हट्ट, H. हाट], s.m. The shed or place in which kahārs, palanquin bearers, coolies, carters, etc. assemble or abide; stand, station, assembly-room; lounge or meeting-place of idlers or pleasure-seekers;—a square frame for embroidery; perch of a bird-cage; heel of a shoe; one of the (usually) two divisions of land watered by a well (see āḍ);—a fixed measure or standard:—aḍḍe-dār, s.m. The keeper or owner of an aḍḍā.
