अलख alakh [S. अलआय], adj. & s.m. Unseen; invisible; without shape or form (as the Deity);—a form of salutation among Jogīs:—alakh-purush, s.m. The invisible Being:—alakh jagānā, lit. 'To call on the invisible'; to ask alms in the name of God:—alakh-dhārī, alakh-nāmī, s.m. A mendicant who acknowledges no deity but Brahma (see āzād):—alakh-gati, adj. & s.m. Penetrating the unseen;—an epithet of God.
