इलाची ilāćī, P. alāćī[S. एला+P. dim. ca]. s.f. Cardamoms, Alpinia cardamomum:—ilāćībāṅṭnā, lit. 'To distribute cardamoms'; to invite to a marriage ceremony and feast (this being done, among Moḥammadan women, by sending cardamoms, betel-leaf, and sugar in a covered dish by the hands of a woman-servant, attended with music, to the female relatives whose presence is desired);—to form an attachment or intimacy:—ilāćī-bundā, s.m. Capsule or pod of cardamoms:—ilāćī-dānā, s.m. Cardamoms coated with sugar, comfits:—ilāćī-doṛā= ilāćī-kādoṛā, s.m.=ilācī-bundā, q.v.
