अधर adhar, s.m. The lower lip, the lip; the lower region or part; pudendum muliebre; the space between earth and sky, mid-air; empty space; middle; intervening space; interval; interim;—adj. Inferior, low, insignificant, vile;—adv. In mid-air, in the middle or midst, etc. (see adhar-meṅ); stiltedly; on tip-toe:—adharāmr̤it (adhara+amrita), s.m. Nectar of the lips; moisture of the lips:—adhar uṭhā-lenā, v.t. To raise or lift up in the air, to raise from the ground, raise on high:—adhar-buddhi, s.m.f. One whose mind is engrossed with sublunary matters; a person of inferior or superficial understanding:—adhar ćalnā, v.n. To walk stiffly, stiltedly, or affectedly; to walk on tiptoe:—adhar-meṅ, adv. In the middle, in the midst (of); midway; between; in the interval.
