ěsān, s.m., = A P ی احسان ěsānī, s.f., [inf. n. iv of حسن 'to be or become good,' etc.], Doing that which is good; beneficence, benefaction, benevolent action, benefit, favour, kindness, good offices, obligation conferred:—ěsān jatānā, v.t. To upbraid (one) with favours conferred, to cast obligations in the teeth of; to speak or boast of kindnesses or benefits conferred:—ěsān rakhnā(-par), To confer a favour (upon); to place (one) under an obligation:—ěsān-farāmosh, adj. Forgetful of benefits or favours; ungrateful, thankless:—ěsān-kābadlā, s.m. Requital or return for a favour; grateful acknowledgment:—ěsān karnā(-par), To confer a favour or benefit (upon), to oblige, to benefit; to do a kind act, or a good turn (to):—ěsān lenā(se), To accept or receive a favour (from); to be under obligation (to):—ěsān mānnā(-kā), To acknowledge or be grateful for kindness, etc. (of or from); to feel obliged, feel grateful:—ěsān-mand, adj.
